Thermylene®

P6 & P7 Chemically Coupled Glass
and Glass Mineral Polypropylene

Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc.'s Thermylene Chemically Coupled Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylenes encompass a family of thermoplastic products that employ chemically grafted polymer additives. These enhance the adhesion between the glass fiber reinforcement and the polypropylene matrix. This “chemical coupling” of the reinforcement to the polymer improves the transfer of load induced stress from the polypropylene to the glass fibers. The glass fibers thereby provide increased load bearing ability to molded parts.

The enhanced adhesion between the glass fiber reinforcement and the polypropylene matrix of Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc.'s Thermylene resins yields a comprehensive product line with:

  • Superior Strength and Stiffness
  • Improved Elevated Temperature Performance
  • Higher Creep Resistance
  • Enhanced Toughness

Cost-saving Solutions

These attributes combined with polypropylene's inherent qualities of chemical resistance, light weight, and process ability result in the lowest cost engineered resin in the world.
